categories don′t show up on page

  • hi, I can add and edit new categories on the dashboard,
    but they don′t show up on the view page. And I can only post on the default category. I am new in wordpress and working with the constructor theme.
    P.S. Pages are showing up on the page and I can add content.
    Please Help!

  • Categories will only show up once there’s a post actually assigned to that new category you’ve created.

    Hi alism, but that is my problem I don′t find where or how to post in the new catagories I added.

    when you want to add a new post, i assume you go to the dashboard (backend) ‘post’ ‘add new’ – then write the title, text etc.; on the right a bit lower there is the field with the categories (unless you have reorganized your dashbord); tick one or more from the list there.

    or, if you have already written the post, goto ‘admin’ ‘posts’ – then click on ‘quick-edit’ under the post title in the list of posts; and there again is a list of categories to tick.

    I have a similar problem. I have the categories showing up in the sidebar. I check the category I want or create the new one. I also create the tags. Neither the category or tags show up on my page. The categories also don’t show up on the category page in the Dashboard and they are inaccessible for quick edit.
