• I have my image sizes set to default in the media settings page. I’m using Astra theme. I have no plugins activated.

When I add an image (width 3447px) the following sizes are generated:

    thumbnail – 150
    medium – 300
    large – 1024
    1536
    2048

However I don’t have a medium-large (responsive) generated which should be at 768px.

When I add the same image which has already been resized to 1200px I get a medium-large image generated at 1200px. Why is this?

  • However I don’t have a medium-large (responsive) generated which should be at 768px.

I just installed a fresh WordPress site (Twenty Twenty-One theme, no plugin), and I don’t see any “medium-large (responsive)” as one of the media size options. I also uploaded multiple images of different dimensions, but never got any such “medium-large (responsive)” image size.

So I’m not sure if this is a feature of your theme or not, as it doesn’t seem to be something baked into WordPress.
