• Hi – I’ve had a security plugin flag a problematic file in a sub-directory of my wordpress root /.sys… I’m fine to deal with the file, but the problem I have is that I don’t know what has created the .sys directory in the first place. I can’t seem to find any reference to it as being part of the wordpress install – in fact google doesn’t seem to return any results for a .sys directory (and searching for /sys obviously returns far too many other results to make it useful!)

The structure underneath is .sys is as follows:

    .sys/
      - [random string]
         - .drs/
             - [lots of random string files]
         - .lks/
             - [lots of random string files]

I’ve checked for unknown plugins on my system and can’t see anything obviously wrong, but as I can’t find any information about this directory, it’s got me spooked!

Does anyone have any clues as to whether this is from a plugin or whether it’s
part of the WordPress system? I’ve confirmed it’s not part of my hosting.

Apologies in advance if I’ve asked a daft question! Any feedback or thoughts would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks
