    What does it do exactly? I want to prevent people from downloading a pdf.

    @cachophrastus, Really Simple SSL is a plug-in to configure your site for SSL. Its purpose is not “prevent pdf downloads”.

    If you do a search on “prevent pdf download wordpress” you’ll get some options to do this.
