Hi folks. I’m attempting to create an educational website that includes, among other things, a detailed historical chronology. In its written form, the chronology is broken into a number of categories and sub-categories like so:

    Chronology
    Part I
    Time Period: 1620-1700
    1620 (Post)
    1632 (Post)
    etc
    Time Period: 1700-1750
    etc
    Part II, III, IV etc

When I put my posts into the proper categories I can create a nice navigation for them. The problem is that I wanted to style the category posts and archives with their own look. I thought if I created a custom page for the “chronology” category that all the sub-categories would inherit that look. That didn’t happen. There will ultimately be too many categories to create custom pages for each.

Am I approaching this wrong? Is it possible to have sub-categories take on the look of parent categories.

    Any help would be appreciated.
