I have Wordfence on my site. It was sending messages to the correct email, however, now I have an Elementor form that sends messages to 2 emails. Suddenly, Wordfence is sending the messages to THESE 2 addresses. How do I get it back to sending messages to only my admin email?

Hi @barnesmg, thank-you for reaching out to us.

Am I right in understanding your Wordfence reports and alerts are now being sent to two addresses simultaneously whereas they were only going to one before? Wordfence uses the same PHP mail functions that WordPress itself uses so shouldn’t be behaving any differently.

If you check Wordfence > All Options > General Wordfence Options > Where to email alerts, do you have any additional addresses in there?

    Thanks,

    Peter.

There is only the single email address there. The correct administrative email.

    Hi @barnesmg,

Are you using Wordfence Central in conjunction with Wordfence on this individual site?

Can you also send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

Note: For the fastest response time, please make sure and add any information or questions directly to this topic and not the email address above unless asked.

    Thanks again,

    Peter.

@wfpeter thanks for the reply. I just sent the diagnostic report as requested.

    Hi @barnesmg,

I have been looking into previous cases of Elementor forms behaving in this way with Wordfence or any other mail send functions from WordPress but can only come up with emails not sending rather than secondary email addresses being triggered outside of a form.

When you visit WordPress > Elementor > System Info, do you see the multiple email addresses under “Admin Email”?

I feel that the next step may be to reach out to Elementor support to see if additional addresses in forms are known to affect cron jobs or other wp_mail functionality.

    Thanks again,

    Peter.
