Great support. Not a great product.
-
I was asked by the support team to please do a review on the product….
Okay.
I’m developing two websites for a client who purchased the Spintech Pro theme. So far, support tickets have been answered quickly and promptly, with efficiency.
Even going so far as to assist in sharing their solution to problems with me.
Great team. One of them seemed to get a bit upset with me when I commented that the question I asked should be, but was not covered in their support articles.
I don’t think the support staff spoke English very well and didn’t understand what I was trying to say. (That if their articles contained how to use the product, there would be no need for the ticket)
But the support has been good. The product?
Don’t buy this.
For the price we paid for it, there are far more versatile and dynamic products on the market.
If you include the cost of time that I, as a developer, had to spend trying to work around the numerous bugs that we encountered, as well as needing to have 5 separate support tickets answered, the price became far, far too much.
Issues we encountered included:
No “import” option. I.E: Upgrading from Free to Pro means rebuilding the entire site.
Shortcodes not working within the template framework.
Entire entries missing from their help section.
Apparent incompatibility with Customizeable CSS (Resolved)
Plugins that the supplier required crashing the entire website. At this point, we are still using the theme.
But I have already recommended to the client that the loss is unsustainable at this point and should more bugs arise, we should cut our losses and move to another framework entirely. An extra star for the support team, as I simply can’t fault them, even through their frustration.
But only 1/10 for the product, as it was apparently released long before it should have been.
