Unable To Delete Media

  • I am trying to delete some images in my library. When in List view if I click to Delete Permanently I get “Error in deleting the attachment.” I made sure they were not attached to anything.

    If I delete in grid view, the image appears deleted, but if I refresh the page it is still there and it is still in list view.

    I have de-activated all plugins, changed themes, removed custom CSS and functions.php. I have checked my config file to see if there might be anything blocking permissions. There is nothing, so I reverted to deleting the files via FTP, however, they are still in my library, with a blank icon and I still get the error when trying to delete.

    Of course I have cleared my cache. I am using WP v5.7

    I would appreciate any ideas of what steps to take next.

  • probably folder/file permission error. try contact hosting provider for support

    Thank you. I am my own hosting provider. I have a dedicated server. I’m a web designer. All permissions are correct.

    I’m open to any other ideas.
