    Hi Hector,

Thank you for a great plugin!

For some reason the plugin stopped working yesterday (no updates or changes that we know of). It still showed weekly and monthly data but the 1 day or 24 hour data keeps showing no data found.

Tried a number of things including reinstalling – no luck. WP Cron showed the hourly event but when we ran it the result was 50 years ago (1969)?

Not being programmers we have no idea so we have taken the plugin offline for the moment. Would really love to start using it again if this can be resolved.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.

We are running on nginx. Let us know if we can provide anything else to be of help.

    Hi @innovation2,

Thank you for a great plugin!

Thanks for the kind words, glad you like it!

Not near a computer right now so I can’t check myself. Will do once I’m back online if needed. For the time being here are a few suggestions: I’m getting “Sorry. No data so far”. What’s up with that?

Thanks for your reply. Will work my way through your list.

Checked the db and both tables are empty so maybe that helps?

    Thanks!

If WPP’s database tables are empty that means that WPP isn’t tracking visits right now. Something is preventing it from doing so.

I checked your website just now and whenever I visit any of your posts your server returns a different response than expected. Seems like either you’re using an old version of the plugin or that something is messing around with WPP’s requests to the REST API.

Can you please share a screenshot of your Debug screen? (WP Dashboard > Settings > WordPress Popular Posts, click on the Debug link at the top center of the screen.)

    Hi,

We are using wp fastest cache pro for caching – There are times when it doesn’t empty the cache for weeks – had been working fine with popular posts up until this problem. Minify is turned on in fastest cache and on cloudflare.

Using wordfence for firewall stuff – no changes.

Just guessing but maybe an update to one of our plugins caused this? This is a busy site so I can try deactivating plugins next weekend to see if the culprit emerges.

Thanks again – any ideas to try things are most welcome.

No need to do that, really. Follow the instructions mentioned on the second paragraph from this FAQ and you’ll be able to disable plugins without affecting what visitors see on the website: I need help with your plugin! What should I do?

    Hi Hector,

Trying to figure out how to post a png?? In the meantime here is a not-very-good text capture. If you have a support email I can send to that or you can use rsmith at the website name to contact us.

    Thanks again!

    That’s good enough, thanks.

Well, since you’re running the latest version of the plugin that sort of confirms the hypotesis that there’s likely a conflict with at least one of the other active plugins.

Since you’re using the WP Fastest Cache plugin you may want to check this FAQ to make sure it gets along with WPP (not saying this is the cause of the issue though, only that this is something you want to look into): Is WordPress Popular Posts compatible with caching plugins?

Also, since WP Optimize is installed on your website you may want to check this FAQ as well: Is WordPress Popular Posts compatible with plugins that minify/bundle JavaScript code? (again, not saying that this is what’s causing the issue but it’s worth reviewing.)

Anyways, you may want to try my suggestion above (or wait for the weekend if you prefer) to try and figure out what’s going on.

    Hi,

Tried everything we could think of including turning off all plugins. No luck. Am using cloudflare so that is the only other think that might be affecting things? Nothing has changed except the usual plugin updates. Tried it on our test site with the same result.

Would love to use the plugin but we simply don’t have the expertise to figure things out.

Thanks for the help. We will try again if you have a new version.

    (@hcabrera)

Well it’s very unlikely that this is a plugin problem so a new version -which by the way I’ll be publishing this upcoming weekend- isn’t going to solve your problem. As I pointed out before, something is messing up with the plugin. I mean, if it indeed was a plugin bug the forum would be filled with reports like yours and that’s not really the case.

Aside from trying the suggestions above, you may also want to consider reaching out to your developer and ask them to look into this for you.

Marking as resolved due to inactivity.

OP if there’s anything else I could do to help -aside from the suggestions I provided here earlier- please feel free to leave a comment below.
