    Hi,

I am desperate. I first had all my pages in EN and translated with TranslatePress to PT. Because I realized it is better for me to have the pages in PT and translated to EN, I am rewriting all the pages to PT.

But, my homepage is broken, not showing, because the URL forces to come up as .com/pt. I want to remove this, as I want it to be the Domain name – https://www.bamboovirtualsupport.com and not https://www.bamboovirtualsupport.com/pt

How can I fiz this and properly Set up my website to be in PT out translated to EN.

    Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello there,

Since you already started to create your content in PT and you want it translated in EN, you will have to change TranslatePress’s default language.

Warning! Changing the default language will invalidate existing translations. We can’t keep them because the translations are directional, and you’ll also need to change ALL your content directly in the new language – it’s good that you are already doing this.

To change the default language you need to go to: Settings -> TransaltePress.
In the General tab you can see the Default language at the top. This is the language you need to change. Right now it is English (United States) and you need to change it to PT.
You also need to add English (United States) in the All Languages list (this way you will have PT as the default one and EN right under it).

After this, whenever you will access your site, it will be in PT by default (simply as https://www.bamboovirtualsupport.com) and when changed to EN it will be https://www.bamboovirtualsupport.com/en.

    Best regards,
    Cristian
