• I’m new to WordPress and I’m using version 2.9.2.

After a few hours of reading through a lot of posts, testing and much frustration, I’m still at square one.

I’ve seen a ton of people with the issue I’m having now, but haven’t seen the solution.

So can anyone please tell me why widgets (I’m trying to add the Links widget) are not saving after dragging them to the sidebar? There is no “Save” or “Apply” button, and they are not saving automatically. What’s the deal?

    Would appreciate some help…!?!
    Thanks!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

I figured it out. When you drag the widget to the sidebar, you have to double click it to get it to stick and save. Weird….
