Updated to ver 3.9.0 broke the slideshow and lightbbox

    Hi,
    I updated to the latest version of NextGen Gallery ver 3.9.0. My slideshow did not displayed anymore and the lightbox did not display when the thumbnail in the gallery was clicked.
    I used shortcode for the slideshow: [ngg src=”tags” ids=”2021Mar-SS-Winners-A,2021Mar-SS-Winners-B” display=”pro_horizontal_filmstrip”]

    There is also a message Default Gallery Type Template:
    <<…wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_gallery_display/templates/index.php
    If you are seeing this, its because the gallery type you selected has not provided a template of its own. >>

    WP 5.6.2
    NextGen Plus 1.7.0

    In the meantime, can someone let me know where to get the previous version so I can roll it back for now.

  • Can confirm that this has broken all NGG images and galleries on our site too.

    Version 3.8 can be downloaded here:

    Reverting to 3.8 fixed our site.

    Thanks Pkeenan. I got the 3.8 version. I deleted the 3.9 and reinstall the 3.8 on my staging site. My slideshow and lightbox came back.
    However, when I deactivated and deleted NGG in my production site. It could be deactivated but did not allow me to delete. Not sure what causes this. Any suggestions?

    Update: While I browse the support forum for answer, I come across a thread that by deactivating a multi-site installation allow the plugin to be deleted. I don’t have a multisite installation, but do have wp-staging installed. So I give it a try in deactivating the wp-staging plugin in. Then I can delete NGG.
    With version 3.8, my captions are now missing from the slideshow. Have to correct that.

    Imagely needs to fix this 3.9 version !!

    Apologies, it seems that we missed your response.

    This issue got fixed since NextGen Gallery v3.9.1. Now we are at version 3.11.

    As this issue is already fixed, I’m going to mark this as resolved.
