This is an AWESOME plugin. Thank you!

I’ve seen your responses that the plugin pulls in reviews from the Google Places API. Am I correct in understanding that this API provides the 5 most relevant reviews and that’s not an option you can change?

Also, I read about the manual upload of reviews and have done that. My question on manual upload…when the plugin checks each day, does this add any new reviews from the API, or will all the reviews I manually copied over be removed and only 5 remain?

@barnesmg The Google Places API will always return the 5 most relevant reviews. This is the starting position of all new plugin installs (or a reset).

Over time, you’ll receive more and more reviews as new reviews are regarded as more relevant than some of the existing ones. The submission date does play a part, but this is not the only factor in evaluating its importance.

If you use the HTML Import, you can populate all your reviews to your plugin. It does not overwrite existing reviews. Any relevant reviews that match an existing imported review will be overwritten by the API’s data if this occurs. You will not lose any reviews during this process.

To summarise: you will get more and more reviews over time and the plugin will build on your archive with the most accurate data available.
