protected members site

  • Hi all,
    I need to setup a restricted members section for a site.
    Visitors can subscribe to a newsletter (public) and also register to be come a member.
    I will have to install a double opt in.
    Once they are approved as member by administrators they get access to a restricted members section.
    The newsletters should be sent preferably via html (with images) and text. It would be helpful to actually send out an e-newsletter in an email that is also stored on the site itself for viewing.

    Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences (good or bad) with certain tools?

    I have checked out the following for specific components:
    Mailpress – sounds pretty good.
    register plus (not compatible with my version)
    Your Members (probably an overkill as I don’t actually included charges)
