Shortcode for categories

    How can I insert the product category widget into the plain text editor? Is there a shortcode for listing product categories(not the products in the categories, but simply a list of the categories)?

    Hi @stevert,

    If I am capturing this correctly, you’d like to list the product categories, not the products within those categories, with either a widget or a shortcode, from a page content.

    This is possible with a widget but this shortcode will do it:

    [product_categories number="0" parent="0"]

    @corsonr I want to have my product categories listed just like the product category widget, so in a menu style. But I need to insert it into a regular page, and I am not using Gutenberg but the plain text editor where I can only use shortcodes.

    The shortcode you provided does not display the categories in a menu list stlye like the product category widget does unfortunately.

    Oh ok, sorry that I missed that. Since widgets can’t be used within the content I’m afraid that this will require some custom code.
