I am evaluating WP Abstracts before purchase and I have run into a user error which your documentation does not mention. Namely:

“Your account does not have the correct user role to view this dashboard. Please contact your site admin.”

Here are the steps that led to the error:

    – installed WP Abstracts
    – created an event with ID 1
    – created a user “testrev1” with the role “Editor”
    – activated user “testrev1”
    – confirmed that user “testrev1” is displayed correctly on the WP Abstracts “Users” tab
    – created a page containing the shortcode [wpabstracts event_id=”1″]
    – visited that page in a clean incognito window, confirmed that WP Abstracts login form was properly displayed
    – logged in on that page as user “testrev1”

    Questions:

Is this error the same as the “You do not have permission to access this page” mentioned in your documentation? Or something else?

Is there a reason why an activated user of role “Editor” would be blocked from viewing the user dashboard?

    Thank you.

    Hi,
Thank you for reaching out. You are correct, its the same error as mentioned in the documentation but if you are testing driving the free version you would need to use a subscriber role since the editor role is reserved for reviewers and the free version does not have the reviewer module enabled.

Your steps are all correct except for the role you assigned to the testrev1 user.

In the PRO version you can follow those same steps and everything will work as designed.
Let me know if you have more questions.

    Thank you,

    Kevon A
