WordPress tells me to delete this Plugin

    Recently I have had an issue with getting critical error messages on WordPress Posts.

    I contacted WordPress Support and one of their “Happiness Engineer” has told me to deactivate and delete the Ad This Plugin claiming it was conflicting with WordPress programs.

    Here is the message I received from WordPress a few minutes ago. I am not certain I believe it but I have deactivated the plugin.:

Hi there,

I see the issue you're having. It looks like what's happening is the text is white, so it's blending in with the white background of the editor. If I highlight the text that's there, I can see it as well.

I tested out a few things and it looks like this is being caused by a conflict with the Ad Inserter plugin or how that's setup. For example, if I temporarily deactivate the Ad Inserter plugin, the text in the editor appears black again and the image appears too.

If you're not currently using this plugin, I would recommend deactivating it and/or removing the plugin from your site. If you are still needing to use this plugin, I would recommend reaching out to their developers for support on this issue to see what they recommend.

    Hello,

    this is pretty unusual that anybody would suggest to deactivate and delete Ad Inserter without even describing what the problem is.
    Deactivating the plugin doesn’t give you any information on what is causing the issue.

    Currently there is no known issue with the plugin.

    The initial problem with critical error message remains.

    I notified WordPress of your last message and told them I was doubtful your plugin was the cause.

    I got a message that their “Team” would look into it.

    But I have never heard back since then and the plugin remains deactivated.

    “Team” of course is code for no one taking personal responsibility.

    It is maddening since it is nearly a month since the issue appeared and no resolution is in sight.

    That is all the current information I have.
