i spent an hour fixing this issue as neither does the whitelisting a page nor a blacklisting a page option works by both methods- choosing the actual page from the dropdown nor the other method of choosing via url with https & http url’s separately entered.

Also tried deleting caches & tried everything. Probably this plugin needs an upgrade. I tried it with 2 cache plugins – wprocket & breeze- both didnt resolve it and even disabling cache plugins totally also did not resolve this.

Super annoyed & frustrated. I also feel the reviews are really not accurate. Although the plugin has fine grained controls and has a premium feel to it but this url whitelist or blacklist functionality is super important whilst in coming soon mode- but this is not functioning. Also did’nt work in incognito mode.

Actually i’m ready to delete this review or even post a 5 star review if only the developer could fix this issue. Meanwhile im really dissapointed cause it doesnt work for me. If only this would work it would make this plugin worth it!

I just want to add that by whitelist and blacklist options i mean i wish to disable coming soon mode only on certain pages so i can work with my team but i can’t achieve this as options dont work!

    1. >> Actually i’m ready to delete this review or even post a 5 star review if only the developer could fix this issue. <<

We call that extortion and that’s not permitted. Please do not do that again.

    2. This is really a support request, not a review. You posted it as a review to put pressure on the developer. (See #1)

    3. I’ve moved this from the review section to the plugin’s support section.

@abhinav1506 I have archived your replies.

This is not hard to get. Do not use the reviews as a stick to get a resolution. That’s not cool and not permitted on this site when found.

If you need support then a support topic is the way to go.

Hi @abhinav1506, I checked whitelist and blacklist function on our dev servers and it is working as expected.

If it’s not working for you, then it is a caching issue or some other plugin using template redirection is causing the issue.

To check the cache you can try to insert any page into whitelist and then access this page in anonymous window with some parameter like this: yourwebsite.com\whitelist-page?ver=1

I can help you to troubleshoot – please share your website URL, together with blacklist/whitelist settings(screenshot).

    Hey thanks for replying,

i use wp-rocket and i disabled it and tried with Breeze cache plugin (for cloudways) as well.So shall i consider disabling all caches plugin whilst in coming soon mode. This is the only solution i see whilst using coming soon mode but the problem is im the admin and i still use it to develop the website in the backend and on the pages and caches helps me aswell to speed up using page builders & other plugins. I will share with you an URL:

    [ redundant link removed ]

The above page is selected via the dropdown under the blacklist option as i only want people to see this page and not access the remaining website – so iv also left the whitelist option blank (untouched) to achieve this. The issue despite of clearing caches, accessing it in incognito mode and waiting for a long time is that it still just shows the preloader and never loads the page. Please resolve this. Even the solution you gave me above by adding the parameters doesn’t work.

It only works when i disable the caches plugin. Im using it with minimal settings without minification, defer JS, etc. & to add to that this is not even a plugin cache issue as the same result and settings don’t work even with the WP-rocket pro cache plugin. I think you need to add a cookie or some kind of php snippet to rectify this as these cache plugins are industry leaders & im having no other problems with any other plugin other than the Blacklist option with your plugin. Please Please Help.

Also i wanted to ask you which mode is most SEO friendly meaning that it doesn’t cause a fall in Google organic SEO rankings ?

Hello, is any of the caching plugins enabled now? I checked your website link, and CMP is displayed on all pages except the one your provided.

“The issue despite of clearing caches, accessing it in incognito mode and waiting for a long time is that it still just shows the preloader and never loads the page.”
    – does that mean CMP page never loads or your real website? If it’s a real website having the problems, then the issue is not with our plugin.

I tested it with Breeze since it is available on WordPress plugins repository and it is working perfectly with CMP together: https://niteothemes.com/dev/dunav/ – on blacklist, all other pages are covered by CMP. Works even with all minifications enabled.

Regarding SEO, it depends for how long you need to have Coming soon or maintenance enabled, if it is only matter of few hours / days max, then you should put Maintenance mode on. If it is a longer period, then Coming soon mode – but it might happen that your website will be crawled and cached with the content you put on CMP Coming soon page.

    1) hi there regarding SEO you use a lot of words like might and stuff which worries me as you need to be sure about the modes. Believe me SEO is something we marketers spend months fixing and managing to get businesses to rank on 1st page of google. After this i need to be sure if the website plans on going offline for say 1 week for some major sudden reason then which mode would be safe for us considering we need to retain SEO rankings. This by far is fundamental to online businesses so i request you to be sure. Please awaiting another reply from you in this regard. n i do appreciate the prompt replies. Awaiting a response.

2)Now coming to the blacklist feature problem in the plugin backend- please note im using the blacklist & not the Whitelist feature. with Blacklist feature you can choose any page/s you want to make visible to a visitor & this is what i need. You are correct to note that currently you can view the page because my cache plugins are deactivated. Im Activating them again so you can check again. Please revert to me. P.S – what do you mean by real site – i didn’t quite get what you meant? but yes this is obviously real site if this is a literal question. Do get back to me . Awaiting your replies. Please check again as iv reenabled cache. do you still have the old link ? Can you check?

1/ Maintenance mode = 503 Service unavailable. This is the one you want to be returning to Google when you’re dealing with site maintenance. It tells Google that you are in fact working on this page or that something else went wrong. If you leave Maintenance on for too long(matter of days) then Google will mark your website as unavailable. Coming soon mode returns code 200 – Status OK which means your website content is available and replaced by Coming soon page content. This will again ofcourse affect Google ranking since your website content changed. I am not SEO expert, you must decide how to deal with it.

2/ Real site = your WordPress theme, not CMP. I checked your website again, and indeed CMP on homepage works as expected byt your Theme is causing Javascript issues with a caching selected plugin https://imgur.com/a/jEASXg3 – you need to contact your Theme developers or Breeze caching plugin. Our CMP plugin is 100% working fine.
