“Subscribe to Comments” affecting visitor count

    I planned on installing the plug-in “Subscribe to Comments”.

    The plug-in allows people to conveniently get recent blog comments in their email, rather than having to go to the blog.

    A friend mentioned that when readers subscribe to my blog’s comments, those readers are not counted as “visitors” in my website stats (the blog is hosted on my website).

    Thus, my blog could show a low visitor count, e.g., in Urchin or Google Analytics, even though a large number of people are reading the blog.

    Is that accurate?

    If they are only reading it via their e-mails, then yes that is indeed true.
