Edit Timestamp Default for Drafts

In future versions of WordPress I would love for the timestamp not to be automatically updated when a post is saved as a draft. I will often begin posts and save them as drafts to finish later, but I want the time I began the draft to be the time on the published post. It gets irritating to have to remember the date I started the post.
