Add Custom Item to Cart

I am working on an item that cannot be defined in Woocommerce because it has too many options and customizations. I am programming a heavy ajax/html5 interface for this particular product and it’s nearly done. I would like to be able to build add-to-cart functionality that will pass

1. SKU number
2. Custom price (defined by user selected options)
3. An image of the item they “built” with their options
4. A blob of data that defines the item they built

Additionally, I’d like them to be able to return to their built item based on the blob of data (4 above) in case they need to edit it.

Can someone point me in the right direction to accomplish this? I am a programmer so custom programming doesn’t scare me. I also have the WooCommerce Code reference but I can’t decipher how to do all of the above.
