Free version is very basic

  • I used to love Generatepress and had high hopes for the new version. Unfortunately the free theme is more or less a skeleton and contains only the most basic features and settings.

    Also, all the positive reviews seem to be from paying customers, praising the support and features of the premium product. This is misleading since the reviews are supposed to be about the free theme available here.

    GeneratePress is indeed very simple, and that’s what we love about it.

    The free theme staying light and simple is how we’ve managed to remain one of the fastest and stable themes in WordPress for almost 7 years. No unnecessary features that have become redundant gathering dust in the corner, and minimal bugs/issues as WordPress continues to evolve.

    Our philosophy has always been to keep the free theme as light and simple to use as possible, allowing our users to add what they need without bloating the theme with a bunch of stuff they don’t.

    We understand that this approach isn’t for everyone, and that’s ok. We know that it’s not possible to please everyone.
