• Hi,
    I tried upgrading to wordpress 5.6.2 but got the following error message :
    There has been a critical error on this website.

    I cannot access my website ever since. I tried disabling the theme, all the plugins, my web hosting disk space was 959mo/1000 so I deleted some files to get down to 760mo. And I updated my php version to 7.4 .

    Here is the WP debug message :
    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function _get_custom_object_labels() in /home/chambresza/www/wp-includes/taxonomy.php:611 Stack trace: #0 /home/chambresza/www/wp-includes/class-wp-taxonomy.php(418): get_taxonomy_labels(Object(WP_Taxonomy)) #1 /home/chambresza/www/wp-includes/class-wp-taxonomy.php(254): WP_Taxonomy->set_props(‘post’, Array) #2 /home/chambresza/www/wp-includes/taxonomy.php(436): WP_Taxonomy->__construct(‘category’, ‘post’, Array) #3 /home/chambresza/www/wp-includes/taxonomy.php(79): register_taxonomy(‘category’, ‘post’, Array) #4 /home/chambresza/www/wp-settings.php(372): create_initial_taxonomies() #5 /home/chambresza/www/wp-config.php(92): require_once(‘/home/chambresz…’) #6 /home/chambresza/www/wp-load.php(37): require_once(‘/home/chambresz…’) #7 /home/chambresza/www/wp-admin/admin.php(34): require_once(‘/home/chambresz…’) #8 {main} thrown in /home/chambresza/www/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 611

    I would really appreciate any help since it has been down for a few days now and my web hosting support is very slow with their answers.

  • Do you have any backup you can revert to?

    Can you change to a default wordpress theme like twenty-twenty-one, etc?

    Yes I used a back-up from 2 weeks ago (when it was running) and it didn’t change anything
    I also disabled the current theme though my ftp server and it didn’t change anything as well.
