How To change blog url to interior page

    Hello,
    I have a site which is running all pages, etc on wordpress. I’ve just learned that our client wants a news page, which will be located at https://url.com/dir/news

    My question is how do I go about this? I’ve modified the index template page as the index page is highly customized compared to other interior pages. Thank you.

    Edit: I’ve created a new template page (blog.php) but can’t get it to show up in the dropdown of custom templates on the page edit screen.

    you could set up a static home page
    admin – settings – reading

    then create an empty page titled “News” and assign that as posts page
    admin – settings – reading
