Hey guys, so I usually just automatically update my website when a new update is available and everything usually works fine.

My dashboard isn’t operating like it should. When I click “Screen Options” or “Help,” nothing comes up, the drop down menu next to “New Post” doesn’t work, and I cannot upload any images, etc when I am creating a new post.

Any help? I have cleared my cache and also de-activated my plugins but still no luck.

    Thanks in advance.

    Try Admin > Upgrade > Re-install Automatically.
Might be worth grabbing a copy of your DB first though, just in case.

What happens if you try a different browser/pc?

I think you have to deactivate the plugin one by one.. I have the same problem about a minute ago and now the problem is gone. Maybe there is a plugin conflict in your wp

I forgot. Everytime you deactivate the plugin go to your dashboard and if the problem is still occured try to deactivate the next plugin and so on.. so you will know which plugin causing the error

i did that and it still didnt work. any other suggestions?

My problem is i use w3 total cache and I uncheck the “Enable dashboard widget” option and the problem is gone.

You can try to look for any “dashboard” option in your plugin and try to unchecking it.

Maybe it’s hosting configuration (I don’t know for sure) but on my other host there is no problem even I check the “Enable dashboard widget” option on total cache my wp still fine.

i have 3 plugins activated – the helly dolly, askimet, and wp-cumulus. i dont have a lot of plugins at all… i dont think it is the plugins because I deactivated all of them and the problem still persists.

try to uninstall then install the wordpress again.. use your softaculous or fantastico.

If this doesn’t help I don’t know how to help you anymore. I’m really sorry.

Try switching to the default theme too.
