    Hello Team Yoast! Hope you are well.

    My issue is that I am using a plugin to add guest authors called Molongui (I have the paid version). The issue is that the guest users/authors that I hace created with this plugin are generally displayed correctly EXCEPT for their name on the tab. The name on the tab of the browser shows “Aleena Imran” because that is the user/admin that was logged in while making the guest authors (on Molongui). I have inspected the source code for a guest author and I see that Yoast generates this on the guest users archive page:

    /style><!– Optimized by SG Optimizer plugin version – 5.7.14 –>
    <!– This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v15.8 – https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ –>
    <title>Aleena Imran</title>
    <meta name=”description” content=”Mr Kannan Solayappan has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Computer Science from Australia. He is the author of "Modernity, Civilizations and the Truth". Mr Kannan is also a Global Minnesota speaker on the Foreign Policy Association's Great Decision Program.” />
    <meta name=”robots” content=”max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1″ />
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://www.paradigmshift.com.pk/author/kannan-solayappan/&#8221; />
    <meta property=”og:locale” content=”en_US” />
    <meta property=”og:title” content=”Aleena Imran” />
    <meta property=”og:url” content=”https://www.paradigmshift.com.pk/author/kannan-solayappan/&#8221; />
    <meta property=”og:site_name” content=”Paradigm Shift” />
    <meta property=”og:image” content=”https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/?s=500&d=mm&r=pg&#8221; />
    <meta name=”twitter:card” content=”summary_large_image” />
    <meta name=”twitter:site” content=”@paradigmshiftpk” />”

    The above shows that the title and other stuff are set as “Aleena Imran”. For the same author page, here is what Molongui is generating:

    The users that I have generated via WordPress itself get displayed perfectly. I asked Molongui what the issue could be and they replied:

    Hi Sarmad,

    I’ve tried to reproduce the issue on our testing server and it is working just fine for any type of user. It even takes custom Yoast config on guest author archives.

    On your site, I see that no matters which author page I browse, all of them (I’ve checked 3 guests) has “Aleena Imran” as tab title. That doesn’t happen with your user though. Does the author page use a custom template you have designed with any page builder? Or is it the default one from your theme?

    Please help me. I have been told this issue is bad for SEO.

    Edit: Molongui had asked me to see if the issue persists with my parent theme active (it did). They asked me to switch to a default theme like TwenetyTwenty and I did but the issue did not resolve. They then asked me to disable Yoast and I checked and everything seems to be working perfectly now. No more “Aleena Imran” on the title/tab for any guest author. I have tested this on a staging website with my child theme active and Yoast disabled and everything works fine. If you want access to my staging website, please let me know. The website address of the staging site is: https://www.staging32.paradigmshift.com.pk/
    If you want to see an example of a guest author’s archive page on the staging area, you can go here: https://www.staging32.paradigmshift.com.pk/author/shayan-asees/

    As you can see, everything seems to be fine now. I have told Molongui my findings and have done the same here, hope one if not both of you can help me out.

    Regards

    We understand that you’re having an issue displaying the correct title on your author pages when the Yoast SEO plugin is activated.

    We checked the page source of your guest author’s archive page on the staging https://www.staging32.paradigmshift.com.pk/author/shayan-asees/ and noticed it’s just showing incorrect text Aleena Imran as a title for all type of guest authors.

    Could you please go to SEO > Search Appearance > Archives(tab) >> Author Archive settings and check what template variables are specified there?
