• Hi there, I’m currently having an issue that when I’m navigating through the different pages of my site when I try to use the home button link below the navigation menu to return to my home page it redirects and displays in the browser the IP address my home page is on and not the domain name
    [example]
Main menu [Home] [About] [Contact] [Info] Below that:
[*Home*] >> [About] (when I try to go back to the Home page from the About page using the link “*Home*” below the main menu it directs me to the ip address of my website instead of the domain name.
E.g. Instead of taking me to the domain name of website (www.example.com) it instead takes me to (25.082.086.755) it is the only link that is giving me this issue as all other methods to return the Home page direct me to my domain name.

Hi, I’ve had a look and the wordpress is linked to my domain the issue seems to only be with that specific [Home] page link is it possible to manually dictate where the link is directed to in theme editor.

Maybe your Home menu item is a Custom link that points to the IP address? Then modify it in the Appearance/Menus!

That link works fine, I’ve tested it and it’s linked to the domain.. The link I’m referring to is the link that comes with the theme automatically and I can’t edit it in WordPress so I’m thinking it must be possible in the theme editor.
So I’ve have 4 menu items:
    [HOME] [ABOUT] [CONTACT] [INFO]

When I click on the [ABOUT] page it turns into this:

    [HOME] [ABOUT] [CONTACT] [INFO]
    *home*>>about

So now I’m on the about page right, if I use the [HOME] link to return the the home page, I get taken to the home page with my domain name (www.example.com/homepage).
However if I use the *home* link which is something that came with the coral dark theme and I can’t remove it, I get taken to the home page but the IP address (25.475.485.786/homepage)

It’s not a theme issue, probably my 1st answer is the solution.

Are you able to tell me where it is in the theme editor so I can delete it manually because I’ve already done everything in the first answer.

Create a menu in the Appearance/Menus, and add your menu items, and set it as primary menu and save the menu! If it is still wrong, ask your hosting provider why your IP address appears!

Is there any way I could send you a screenshot of what I’m talking about? I think that would better explain my home link and issue I’m referring to

It opened up the source code and I’ve got
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://my IP ADDRESS/”/> for some reason it is the only link that points to my ip address how would I go about it changing this?

One thing is sure: it is not a theme issue. What did your hosting provider say?

The right solution is, I am sure that you used Home menu from custom link. That custom link has ip address. So change the ip address to your root domain. I also have the problem like that in my website- Fluttertpoint.

Change this by customizing your site or from menu section.
