(Waiting on my host to fix my SSL problem on this site)

I reinstalled to 5.6.1 and now can’t change the slug from the automatically assigned number. I’ve tried in the full edit (url slug is not an option on the right side) and the quick edit (slug is an option there, put it in, update it, but it doesn’t change).

I would like my contact to be /contact

I’ve tried creating a new page to put the contact page on, and no luck. It seems now all of my pages behave the same way.

I’ve tried using another browser to check the cache.

    Any tips? :p

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • This depends on how your webhost is configured.
If the server is running Apache and the option to use .htaccess is enabled, then you should be able to handle this (even automatically if WordPress is allowed to edit or add a .htaccess file).
But if you’re on a host that runs nginx, then this needs to be set in the server configuration directly, which might be available to you in your webhost’s panel (i.e. outside of WordPress).
If you don’t find the solution, then you need to contact the support of your webhost.
