    Hi There,

Originally I used Google sitemaps and generated a sitemap. I inserted the sitemap in Google console and am getting indexing on most pages. I am having an issue with the landing page as seen above. I have since removed Google sitemaps from WordPress and using Yoast. I hear that having 2 sitemap generating plugins doesn’t work.

Here’s my question. The old sitemap location in Google Console is working for other pages besides the landing page. Do I have to remove the sitemap in inserted in the Google Console to allow Yoast to submit a landing page sitemap? And if so, when removed do I leave the Google Console sitemap section blank and assume Yoast has it all covered. I like the stats in Google Console so I’m hoping that there is another sitemap option.

    Thanks,

    Jarvis

  • Hi @jarvis-emerald,

We see that the e-landing-page-sitemap.xml appears, but it’s empty. Can you send us more details about what plugin or theme is creating this post type and an example URL of a page that should appear in this sitemap?

If you don’t want to show any e-landing-pages in the sitemaps, you can remove this sitemap by going to SEO > Search Appearance > Post Types and setting “Show in Search Results” for e-landing pages to “No”.
