I also can’t create a new post either without getting the same error message

Impossible for me to say or determine with this information above. I am curious what post type slug you chose, because I’ve seen oddball cases of issues depending on that detail.

I can’t access the slug information of any of the preexisting posts using your plugin, nor can I create a new post as all roads lead to the same error message

I meant the post type itself, the first field you entered when setting up the post type. Not so worried about the slugs for the posts themselves ??

Also, at least if able to, disabling other plugins to see if/when the issue goes away, that’ll help narrow down possible conflicts as well.

I can access the content of the posts created using your plugin if I install and activate the WordPress classic editor

It sounds like something in your install is causing some errors with the Block editor screen, but I can’t tell you what exactly with the information above. We don’t add anything custom to the screens with CPTUI itself, so it’s difficult for me to potentially attribute it to our plugin directly.

This is why it’d be best to start whittling things down, especially if you have a dev/staging copy of the site that’s experiencing it as well. Pretty much any plugin that’s adding their own custom blocks could be contributing to this.

It’s only your plugin that’s an issue, but goes away when I use classic editor which changes the the dashboard format to TinyMCE with the Classic Editor plugin. How would using this other plugin cause yours to work so posts can be edited and created?

However, when using the Advance Editor Tools (perviously TinyMCE Advanced) it briefly allowed me to view the content on the dashboard until I clicked the sesstings cog while viewing the post, then the error message returned

    I don’t have a dev/staging copy

What I’m saying is other plugins, that integrate in with the new block editor could be experiencing their own errors, and thus causing the situation you’re seeing. I also have to suspect you’d see very similar issues if you were to try a post type that wasn’t created by CPTUI. We don’t do anything with Javascript outside of our post type/taxonomy registration areas. This is why I believe something else is contributing here. Theoretically it could also be the theme, if they have their own blocks.

If you’re willing and able, you could see about editing and adding the following to your wp-config.php file to try and get a better error output and possibly more information about the contributing js files from your browser js console.

    define( 'SCRIPT_DEBUG', true );

I’ve been creating and editing posts every day for months and there’s no issues with the standard post creation and editing on dash board, just the ones I created using yours.

I don’t have access to my config files

Understood, but there’s not much I can do from my end of things with CPTUI at the moment. We need more diagnostic information from what’s called the stacktrace and what all is being added by other parts of your install to the editor screen. For example, I clicked your video and saw Yoast SEO on screen, their plugin could be throwing an error in some way causing what you’re seeing, for just this post type itself. Other plugins may be, as well. I don’t have a way or thing to point to to say “it’s this here causing it”.

The issue is not that it’s a CPTUI post type, it’s that something is happening on the post type editor screen that happens to be for a CPTUI-registered post type.

I’d love to keep helping, and this isn’t me saying I’m giving up by any means. I just can’t tell you much more from where I am now. I’d need to potentially be granted access to the site dashboard and see if I can determine anything else, or potentially temporarily deactivate plugins long enough to see if the issue goes away, etc.

It shouldn’t be yoast SEO causing the issue, I had that installed long before I installed your plugin and it wasn’t an issue when I created the first two posts using your app. I deactivated yoast anyway, and you app still displaying the same error

Your plugin does say it’s untested with my current version of WordPress, so is that the likely issue? WordPress was updated the other day

are you willing to grant us temporary access to your admin dashboard to check on things from a first person perspective? At this point I need more access to provide any further insight here. Please use https://pluginize.com/contact/ to reach us off the forums so we can handle privately from there.
