Plugins showing up in manage plugins area that have been deleted

  • For some time now I’ve been having problems with my plugins.

    I decided to delete one or two of them after awhile and I get a successfully deleted files message, but when I go back to the plugins page they’re still there–if I delete the files via ftp, they still show up in this list.

    Also, when I add new plugins, they succesfully install, but then do not show up in the plugins list–I have no idea why this would happen…

    The plugins I can’t delete currently are Lightbox-2, and Hello Dolly. I also have the problem where I update plugins, get a success message, and then they show up as still needing to be updated?

    If I check back then a day or so later, the problem seems to have resolved itself–I can’t figure out why it would happen, but is it possible there is some caching issue I’m overlooking?

    One quick update, if I reload apache, the plugins show up.

    Any ideas anyone?
