    Hi there,

I’m trying to create a product feed for google shopping. I’m not sure what value to add for the brand name though? Do I need to install another plugin to create my brand name? I can select woosea brand (custom attribute), but I don’t know where to add the brand name for that?

    Can you help? Thanks ??

    Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

WooCommerce doesn’t come with a brand field/attribute out of the box so you would indeed have to create such a brand attribute yourselves. This WooCommerce tutorial shows how to create such an attribute.

Once you created that new brand attribute you can use it on your product edit pages so you can give brand values to your products. Once you are done filling in the brands for your products you can map your new brand attribute to Google’s g:brand field in the field mapping section of our plugin.

Now, alternatively, when all your products have the same brand you can go for a much easier and faster way. You can add a so-called “static value” for your brand in the field mapping section of our plugin. This tutorial describes how to do so: https://adtribes.io/how-to-use-static-values-and-create-fake-content-for-your-product-feed/

The woosea brand (custom attribute) field you noticed in the drop-downs is a left-over from our previous paid version of the plugin. In-case you want to know more about that please contact our support team directly. Unfortunately, per the WordPress forum guidelines, we’re not allowed to discuss our paid plugins here.

    Hope this helps?

    Hi there,

thank you for your quick reply and help ?? I’ve added a static value, as we make all our own products and they are under our brand name.

I’m stuck again though on the MPN. We don’t have GTINs for our products. Do you have a tutorial on how to create MPNs?

    Many thanks ??

    Richard.

    Hi Richard,

Good to hear you were able to opt for the easiest solution to add your brand to the feed.

Adding a MPN and/or GTIN to your feed for Google Shopping is not always mandatory. Especially when you sell products under your own brand and not generic products such as consumer electronics. What kind of products are you selling?

    Hi there,

Thanks for your reply ?? We make skincare:

I’ve been looking at buying GTINs, but it doesn’t seem necessary at the moment?

    Thanks ??

It is a thin line, Google is not always very clear about when they expect you to add GTIN’s to your feed and when not.

In your case I would just upload the feed to your merchant center and see what happens. You can always correct things afterwards when they, unexpectedly, will disapprove of your products because of a missing GTIN.

OK thanks ?? I’ll try that and see what happens…

    Hi,

Assuming the issue at hand has been resolved or our support is no longer required I am going to close this topic for housekeeping reasons now.
