I am trying to find if I can get rid of the word comments on the page and get rid of date and set page up like a static page for a website. Can this be done in CSS or Html.
Want to know if I can get rid of the word category and the word links and other things there on right handside and add a video there and opt in form instead and add affiliate links on that side.
Or can I do that with the paid version Flex Squeeze.

Neither. You need to edit the relevant template file in your theme and adjust/remove template tags as appropriate.

This info is way over my head. Are you familiar with the paid theme flex squeeze. Should I get that theme? I need one that has almost no css just push a button and build. Newbie going wack-a-do. Very frustrating. thanks

PS. Is Carman a theme or is that what they call all the new 2.9?

    Sorry – I’m not.

    Should I get that theme?

Personally, I’d be very dubious about paying money for the premium version if you don’t like the free version. Unless the premium version is exactly what you want, you’re going to find yourself in the same position.

All themes use CSS but it sounds like you haven’t found the right theme for you yet. What you appear to be looking for is a theme that has everything you want without needing any customisation. That could be quite a tall order for any theme (paid or free) outside of a bespoke build.

What I suggest that you do is sit down and write a list of the features that you want – right down to the colors, number of columns etc. Prioritise that list and then start searching. You might find the tag filter in the Theme Directory quite useful in this respect.

Try a few free themes first. It costs you nothing more than a little time. And even if you don’t find the right free theme for you, the experience will sharpen your ability to hunt down the Right Theme – premium or free.

Oh – and yes – Carmen was the name given to WP 2.9. ??
