Your nice plugin doesn’t work

  • As you can see my blog home page requires excerpt to be not more than 20 words. I could fix to 20 in the Search Page Results using the WP theme Customizer. But I really cannot find a solution to the excerpts in index page. I tried lots of solutions, from coding the functions.php in the child theme to changes at the Customizer. Nothing works. Eventually I suppose something is wrong with my child theme because some other things don’t rely to changes made in the functions.php file of the Child Theme.

    Hi @marinobac50

    The posts listing on the homepage is coming from Visual Composer (WPBakery) page builder.

    It handles excerpts in it’s own way, so our plugin and I’m assuming some PHP functions for “excerpt_length” filtering you tried in functions.php won’t work.

    But the Visual Composer module you use should have some options to limit the excerpt lengths.
