It would be very useful to know what hosting provider are you both using.

In any case, my recomendation is to install and set up SMTP in order to rule out the issue is caused by your mail server restrictions.

You can set up SMTP on WordPress using a plugin, there are several free options available, but first I recommend you watch this video tutorial for more details: How To Setup WordPress SMTP For Sending Emails.

I’m using MS Exchange server for mail. I setup SMTP using the WP Mail SMTP plugin, and this fixed the issue. Thank you!
