• just downloaded and installed si-contact form 2.0.1

uploaded, installed, and activated with no problems.

I added the form to a page… the form displays correctly. form sends emails to me successfully, and I know for sure that my host allows the mail function. the default settings for the plugin will successfully send an email, but I am not able to configure the plugin at all.

when I try to configure the options in wordpress admin, I get a page telling me “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” the url of this page is:
    https://steadysf.com/wp/wp-admin/plugins.php?ctf_form_num=&page=si-contact-form/si-contact-form.php

I saw the piece in the FAQs about setting permissions on folders if the captcha is not displaying. the captcha is displaying, but I checked permissions anyway and the folders listed are all 755.

any idea where I might be going wrong?
    thanks!

  • This is not caused by the plugin. It is usually an expired wordpress cookie. Close your browser, empty the cache and try again.

    hello!
i’m having the same problem. i was able to upload the plugin and it works but i cannot save any changes i make to the form. i tried emptying the cache and i tried a using a different browser.

thanks in advance for any help!

    Maybe another plugin is conflicting.
    Do this as a test:
Temporarily disable all your other plugins.
Does it work now? If yes, enable the plugins one by one to determine
which one conflicts. Which plugin was causing it?

It could be the theme you are using is causing it…
    Do this as a test:
In Admin, click on Appearance, Themes.
Temporarily change your theme to the “WordPress Default” theme.
    Does it work properly now?
If it does then the theme you are using is the cause.

I’m seeing this when I have a “/” in the welcome introduction. For example, “visit https://foo.com to interact with community members” doesn’t work.

    Used to work fine.

Will try disabling other plugins to see if that is it.

Are you redirected to a 403 Permission denied page?
If you are then it is then your web host might be using modsecurity to filter POST content and a filter rule is being triggered by the https://

I recently had this happen. I use HostGator web hosting. All I had to do was open a live chat with their tech support and explain the problem. They added my page to a white list and the problem went away.
