    Hi,
I’m having problems displaying Woocommerce Categories on my Shop page.
    https://culturematters.com/shop/
I’ve already “customized” the settings in Appearance to display Categories on my Shop page, but it is not working.
Instead the Shop page keeps on displaying all the products (randomly).
    Woocommerce version: 4.9.0
    Divi version: 4.8.1
    Wordpress: 5.6

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @chrissmit,

I understand that categories aren’t showing on your page. I’m happy to help with this.

Just to be sure we’re on the same page, is your setting in Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Catalog set to show categories on the shop page as shown in this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/jrClG9?

If that’s indeed the case, could you please temporarily switch to the Storefront theme and let me know if the issue persists?

I await your response to better assist you.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, the settings for Woocommerce are set as per your attachment.

With respect to the “Storefront” theme: will that affect my whole site?

Selling using Woocommerce is only a very small part of my site/business; It’s a live site and I don’t want to mess things up.
Or, can I just use that theme for Woocommerce?

    Kind regards,
    Chris

    Hi @chrissmit,

    Thanks for getting back.

Yes, changing your theme to Storefront will have site-wide implications.

However, there’s the option to use the Health Check plugin. When you turn it’s troubleshooting mode on, you will not affect the visitors on your live site. You’ll also be able to perform tests such as changing themes or disabling plugins in a rather confined environment where only you can see the effects.

Nonetheless, looking at your site today, all seems to be fine and categories are showing on the shop page as expected.

Let us know if the issue was fully resolved.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

Sorry. Was away for some time.

The thing that I still don’t get is that I’ve made categories, and categories that have a parent category; meaning that they should be a subcategory, right?

Still those categories with a parent category are still showing up on the page, and that’s what I don’t want…

I just want to display two “main” categories and inside those main categories, there should be the subcategories.
