• I know that this question has probably already been addressed…but has anyone figured out the solution?
I have had contact form 7 installed for almost 2 months and it has always worked fine…but ever since I updated wordpress to 2.9.2 it will no longer send out e-mails. When I fill out the information in the form it says it was submitted…but I never receive the e-mail.
Is this due to the 2.9.2 wordpress update….and if so….is there a solution or are they working on one?
Or does anyone else use a similar plugin that is simple and easy to use?
Thanks so much for any help!!

  • Is this due to the 2.9.2 wordpress update

I don’t think so since there has been no change relating to sending mail.

I am having the same issue. Has anyone figured this out yet?

I am still on WordPress 2.9.1 and have the same issue. The for submits correctly but I never get an email. The problem I am having is that it will not send to an email with the same domain as the site. It will send to outside address on other domains no problem. Any suggestions?

    I’m using WP 9.2
Just installed this plug in and keep getting “failed to send” error message.
I’ve tried using emails on the server and off site.. still won’t send.

Same here. I have 2.9.2 and it says it sends but I never get an email. Nor does the file upload. I wish it worked as it looks extremely flexible and easy to use!

If your contact form doesn’t send any mail or you don’t receive mail, check if you can receive other mail from WordPress, such as comment notifications, first. In most cases, it’s not contact form’s problem but your server configurations are incorrect or your mail server is in bad condition or just delaying.

The mail thing I can understand. But why isnt the file being uploaded?

It’s the host!! Hostgator works great, goDaddy fails. So lame. I hate the way they have it set up over there. Working good now for emails (still have to test file uploads)

ALAS it didn’t work because I did not have the email address set up on the host = User error = rtfm

    Now it’s working great. Cheers.

Has anyone found a solution for this with GoDaddy? m3fs said, “I did not have the email address set up on the host.” Can someone tell me how to do this? Thanks.

Or has anyone found a contact form that works with GoDaddy?

Seriously. I have a client on GoDaddy (wish I could’ve switched them over) and I can’t find a single contact form that works.

    Anything?

Me neither, GoDaddy sent me the following reply to my query:

In order to be able to send email through our hosting accounts that we offer you must use the following relay server in your code:

    relay-hosting.secureserver.net

Any clues where I’d insert that fine piece of code in any of the plugins (pref Contact Form 7)

i was having a problem where the form would not send to an email address that had the same domain as the website itself…

ie: the form was on https://www.domainname.com.au and it wouldnt send an email to [email protected], but it WOULD send an email to [email protected]. weird…

anyway, i had previously turned off comments in wordpress, and ripped out all code with comments from my theme – cause i didnt want any mention of them at all (even that they were turned off.)

I ticked back on the “allow comments on new articles” setting in SETTINGS > DISCUSSION and the contact form 7 started working properly.

when i went back and looked at SETTINGS > DISCUSSION, that setting was unticked again – not sure why. possibly because i tinkered with the templates and ripped out the code.

Anyway – contact form 7 is now working for me, thought this may be of interest or help identify this bug

I found this incredibly useful article from another blogpost – sadly doesn’t seem to work for me but might do for someone else! Seems to be a GoDaddy problem across the board …
