Problems with Freeservers and Theme

    Forgive what are bound to be foolish and obvious questions with same answers…

    I’m a wordpress newbie and I need some quick advice. I have a regular static html site hosted on Freeservers and currently they have one click wordpress installation; however they only support Php version 4.1.2 and WordPress Blog Version 2.0.4 and I’ve been getting error readings along the lines of “Fatal error: Call to undefined function: automatic_feed_links() in /www/cgi/wp/wp-content/themes/smooth/functions.php on line 7” when I use anything other than classic and default themes.

    So is there anyway to see if a certain theme will be compatible with the WordPress version available because that’s the only solution I was given by their tech people. And this isn’t a priority at the moment so just pulling up stakes and moving to someplace else is something I’d like to avoid.
