I just upgraded one of my sites to the latest WordPress, version 5.6. Then I upgraded by Backup Guard to version 1.5.6 and it seems to have broken by backups. Now when I go to BackupGuard on my WP back-end, the spinner animation just keeps spinning indefinitely. If I try and click the Backup button, nothing happens. The pop-up window never opens to let me choose my backup options. I turned off any pop-up blockers, but it didn’t help.

How can I get BackupGuard working again. Thanks!

    Dear @chiefbobo ,

Thank you for reporting to us.

We tried reproducing the same issue on our end but failed to be honest.

So, could you do the following please? You can send a screenshot from the Console section of your browser Developer Tools when trying to perform the backup.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dear @chiefbobo ,
Please, let us know if the issue still persists.
If it does, we were wondering if you could send the requested screenshot.

I am having this same issue. Could someone from @backup-guard please contact me to resolve as well?

My problem turned out to be browser based. After upgrading my BackupGuard plugin, the spinner animation was always turning when I went to any BackupGuard screen. And no interface buttons were responsive.

I had to clear my cache and restart the browser. Once I did that, and returned to my site, BackupGuard worked normally. It’s like it’s leaving some old cookie behind after the plugin updates, that seem to cause the issue. Hope that helps!

    Dear @cainj ,

The problem may seem like the same one but the source causing it may be different.
So, could you, please, open another support thread if you still have the issue or else contact us at [email protected]?
    Thank you!

    Dear @chiefbobo ,

    Thanks for mentioning this.
We will surely look into the problem and see if a cookie was causing it.
