Interesting site. Honestly I am surprised you have made as much money as you have so far. Even more surprising is that people have given $20 and $50 donations. Good for you!
I like the colors of the theme and the matching header image really ties it together. The header text does not stand out much though. Perhaps a different color or another approach to your header would be better.
Site appears fine in both IE8 and FF. The Google Ads are very intrusive when viewed without an ad blocker. Do they really need to be in every post or maybe you can place them in the side bar? Or if you want them in every post maybe just pick a format that is less intrusive?
I would suggesting expanding the clickable area of the links on the sidebar to extend across the entire block.
One further note on the purpose of your website, since you are asking for a total donation that you will likely never receive you should consider a “plan B” and let your visitors know what else the money might be spent on if it comes to that. Maybe find a way to give back to your visitors, or choose a charity to give the money to.
