Thumbnails broken and JSON error
-
I’m currently trying to set up my personal photo gallery, using FooGallery, which I really like. However, I keep running into a problem that I don’t know how to solve.
For some galleries, the thumbnails won’t generate correctly. What happens is this:
1) I create the FooGallery and add the images. When I click on “Gallery Preview”, the thumbnails load and display just fine.
2) I click on the “Publish” button on the right. It takes forever to load, then it displays a white page with a bunch of white images (like a gallery page that’s broken). Example here: https://www.virtual-dreams.org/stuff/FooGallery5.JPG (URL is …/wp-admin/post.php).
3) When I go back to the gallery page (which often takes forever to bring up) and click on “Gallery Preview”, most thumbnails are broken and don’t show up, while others do. Example here: https://www.virtual-dreams.org/stuff/FooGallery1.JPG The “Manage Items” list looks fine: https://www.virtual-dreams.org/stuff/FooGallery2.JPG
4) When I go to the post I created that has the gallery in it, it shows mostly broken thumbnails with placeholder images. Examples here: https://www.virtual-dreams.org/stuff/FooGallery4.JPG and https://www.virtual-dreams.org/stuff/FooGallery6.JPG
5) Sometimes when I create or make updates to a post that has a FooGallery in it, I get an error “Updating failed: The response is not a valid JSON response.” Example: https://www.virtual-dreams.org/stuff/FooGallery3.JPG
I’ve already tried the following things in the Foo settings without success:
– Enable/Disable HTML cache
– Enable/Disable Output Gallery JSON to Script Block
– Enable/Disable Override Thumb Test
– Switch from Imagick to GD
– Clear Thumbnail Cache (never works)
– Redo the troublesome gallery (so many times, to no avail)My website is running on PHP version 7.4. My WordPress version is 5.6.
I’m running out of ideas what else to try, and I hope I can find some help here. Thanks!
