• Hi guys,

My aim with my website is to basically create articles relating to three subjects – politics, travel and sport. My concern is that while I have a categories section on my homepage, I don’t know how to get, say, a political article to appear on the politics page. I was just wondering if there is a way to link categories up to specific pages? Thanks!

  • When you are in the editor, or in the Posts list in the admin (using Quick Edit), you can use the two built-in taxonomies of Categories and Tags to organize your posts.

Category archive pages show only those posts that are in that category. Same with Tag archive pages. These are built-in from WordPress. If you create a Page for each, that is different, and you need a block or shortcode or special page template to dynamically list posts on a Page.

Your theme is controlling the home page sections, so any questions about that should be directed to the theme author (unless you have a static page and use a plugin to make the sections).

    Hi Joy,

Essentially I would like all latest posts to appear on the homepage, which seems to be happening right now, and from there I want specific posts to go onto specific pages. I’m still not quite sure how to do that. I can’t get in touch with my theme author.
