• Hi!

    I’ve successfully used the contact-form-7 on our company’s website for a long time. Today I tried to create a new form, and then realise none of my old ones work.

    I use them on different pages (use four different forms for different purposes) but none of them work. I get an error-message in red square, all of them saying sort of “please try again later”. The email provided is always in yellow.

    Can someone please help me?

    Did you already fix the issue?

    Unfortunately, or how I should put it, I haven’t fixed the issue. But I’m extremely happy your mail came through!

    However, I can still not send messages. This is the error message I get: “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”

    Could it possibly be my own ip that is marked as spam since I’ve tried so many times? This would be a “good” solution, if it’s possible to solve ??

    Mine stopped several days ago.. Trying to figure it out. It has all the updates and I’m running wp 5.6 https://www.backyardgardener.com/contact-us/

    My hosting provider is throwing me bones, but nothing is on the bone for me to chew on.

    I use contact forms for another page on my domain and it give the same error, but data is collected on a database and the error is still provided.

    I’ve used this plugin I assume for 5-10 years

    Indeed, it could be a spam blocking of your IP, did you try to send a message using a device on another network? For example, your mobile connected from the mobile network (not Wi-Fi).

    It would also be useful to see what settings you have in the Mail tab, could you take a screenshot and share it here?

    @yordansoares I did try that already ?? didn’t make any difference. And since I couldn’t send through mcalpin1’s form either, I wonder if it really is the IP?

    The forms have worked flawless for years. And I got messages from costumers last week. Could you please try these two forms as well? https://www.lolles.se/tidsbokad-radgivning/ and https://www.lolles.se/digital-shopping-pa-lolles/. The important thing is that it works for our costumers ??

    @yordansoares I asked a friend try one of the forms, and it didn’t work for her either. It’s really weird you got the message through?!

    Since our shop use these forms frequently now during covid-19 (we don’t have a webshop so we use these forms as “manual web shopping”) it’s important that they work. I’m so sorry they suddenly error ??

    I sent a message from each form within the links that you provided and both worked.

    The first returned this message:

    The second returned this message:

    Tack! Din produktf?rfr?gan har skickats. Vi ?terkopplar s? fort vi f?r m?jlighet!

    Just to rule out that it is the browser, can you please tell me what browser and operative system you’re using?

    By the way, I’m using Google Chrome 87.0.4280.88 (Build oficial 64 bits) on Windows.

    Hi @yordansoares, firstly I am truly supergrateful for your help! Secondly, it’s really weird that your messages get through while my friends and mine don’t, isn’t it? :/

    I use Safari 14.0 on my computer and the Chrome app (latest update) on my iOS cellphone.

    I already performed several tests using an iMac with Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome, but I only succeeded with Chrome. The messages failed in Safari and Firefox for macOS (in Windows I could send with Firefox).

    I also tried sending a message through my site form using Safari and Firefox and worked. So I think there are some issue in your site.

    Checking the browser console in Firefox I saw that you have several issues:

    It would be a good idea to try emptying or regenerating the cache. If it still doesn’t work, try temporarily disabling reCAPTCHA.

    You are amazing! In a way I am “happy” you found the errors I did. That means I’m not dreaming ??

    Still, I tried emptying cache. Also I tried disabling reCAPTCHA in one specific form but it didn’t help. I tried googling how to disable reCAPTCHA from my site but didn’t find very helpful information.

    I will continue trying tomorrow (it’s getting close to midnight here in Sweden). In the meantime: THANK YOU so much for you efforts. It really means a lot to get such splendid support – although I/we haven’t found the proper solution, yet!

    @yordansoares: I couldn’t help but to google some more, and found how to disable reCAPTCHA in the plugin. When I did, the form worked…! But… since I will go to bed soon I enabled it again.

    However! Now we found the problem! Is it possible to fix, you think? Without being forced to skip reCAPTCHA?

    For me the failure was that I did this => Disable REST-API for all users except of admin

    So check if your rest-api is still ok for all users (can be deactivated by a security plugin or so , i did this myself , reverted it and all worked great again)

    @jseutens thank you for your input! Unfortunately I don’t know what or how to to that, or if even is a good idea for me (since I don’t know what the REST-API does!) :p I’m happy it worked for you though!

    For now I just have to stop integrating reCAPTCHA with the plugin until another, better, solution is found ??
