• Hi
    – Have an Elementor built Header and Footer (in Canvas, but Full width give same result)

    – Have pages built with Elementor, and the blog Entries page and post page not with Elementor. The blog Entries and post page are default page editor in lastest WP, and use Customizer to design it.

    – The Header and Footer works fine on the Elementor pages (they are all designed in Elementor)

    – Problem is, the Footer (also on Header, but not a big problem, and not so easy to see) gets other width, or margins, or padding on the Blog and Post pages (the text gets much closer to left/right screen edge.
And on mobile the Footer layout on the Blog/Post page is not the same, elements are moved sideways (elements I can not have aligned “centered”, but use padding/margin in pixels).

I have tried all variations of setting the Blog/Post pages to “Full Width” or “100% Full width” and tried different settings on the Header and Footer but the Header/Footer works anyway good, as long as it’s on an Elementor created page.
On my Header nav menu “Nyheter” is the Blog entrie page, compare the Footer with signup forms and social buttons to the Footer on another page in the nav menu. Look also at the small text at the very bottom of the Footer, how the margin/padding changes depending on page type.

    What is the advice here?

    Thanks!
    Daniel

    Hi

Footer used on all pages and as said done in Elementor, and works well with Elementor pages.
    Link to snapshots:

1st & 2nd image: Elementor pages, margins good at footer text in the bottom and social buttons aligned. 3rd and 4th image: OceanWP/archive page, margins much less at bottom text and social buttons moved to left.

1st & 2nd image: Elementor pages, margins good at footer text in the bottom and social buttons aligned. (url: https://www.agrara.se)
3rd and 4th image: OceanWP/archive page, margins much less at bottom text and social buttons moved to left. (url https://www.agrara.se/nyheter)

In the footer, text is centered, but the buttons that are not centered on the Archive page are left-aligned, (can not center shortcodes , and icons did not behave centered, an Elementor thing)
But does it now show that the width of the page is different? since the left aligned widgets get skewed to the left on the Archive page. And margins change.
This is just on mobile, on tablet similar but worse. Computer works better, but still the margins are noticeably smaller on the Archive page.

Why do you think? have tried “a lot”.

    Best regards
    Daniel

    Hello,

Try to build (move/copy) the Header and Footer via THeme Panel > My Library, then go to Customize > Header > General, select Custom Header and select template.

the same for footer Customize > Footer Widgets, select template.
also, Oceanwp does not control the elementor settings/designs, it needs to edit all those templates in their responsive modes.

For the responsive, this video could also help you:

    Hi @abhikr781

The Header and Footer are build as a template already in Theme panel > My library
And that Custom header/footer is selected already as Custom in the customizer as you suggest.

Yes, I am aware of how to work with responsiveness in Elementor.

But my issue here is/was that the Footer I have done in Elementor changes on the Archive and blog postpages, which was not created in Elementor.

I believe the page width or margins are different on the Archive and blog post pages. But I have tried change OceanWP width from 1200 to 1140 which should be Elementors, and there is absolutely no change. So if width is the problem, it’s not working to change that in Customizer.
Why is changing Main Container Width from 1200px to anything not showing? nothing happens. I use Layout style Wide.

    Hello,

This has nothing to do with the website layout.
What Template Attribute was used for the Header and Footer created in Theme Panel > My Library?
It should be Elementor Canvas and the width of the section in Elementor SHOULD NOT BE SET. And unless custom CSS codes were added or some third-party plugin conflict results in the content shift, the Header and Footer should remain exactly the same width, regardless of the page layout.

    Hi

The Footer (and Header) Template is Elementor Canvas. There is no width set. (But the pages built in Elementor is Full width with default elementor width of 1140px)

I have extracted all CSS code, and the margins in the footer do not change at all.

I have tried disabling plugins but margins look the same.

I have set up a staging site if you can take a look there? How can I contact you for that?

    Hello,

It appears both your header and footer were built using Elementor’s Theme Builder, and not through Theme Panel > My Library, then set through the Customizer.

That is most likely the issue here and the cause for discrepancies between pages.
We can indeed be reached https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/762-how-can-i-get-support but unfortunately, it is against WordPress forum policy rules to ask you to reach us, ask for your login details, etc.

Please inspect the way you’ve built and implemented your Header and Footer templates then get back to us with your findings.

    Thank you for your understanding

Why do think, or where do you see I have used Elementors Theme builder for creating my Header and Footer?
And if I had, why would that be a problem?

Now, I have NOT used Elementors Theme Builder. You do need the PRO version to do that, which I have not.
I was in Theme Panel>My Library and “Add new” there, to create my header&footer.

I can redo my Header and Footer, but need to understand what is wrong first, otherwise I will just do exactly as before…

    Best regards

    Hello,

I apologize for the delay in response.
I checked your site but not getting the exact causes for the issue. We will check it on our end to see if we can find anything about this issue.

I have also passed this message to the concerned dev team to look into it.

    Thank you for reporting it.
