I wrote this for WP.com support, but they don’t care about non example.wordpress.com blogs…

I used a WordPress blog on my domain https://www.b***2.hu/. To use Akismet and WordPress.com Stats I registered at WordPress.com with the e-mail address p***i@b***2.hu (username: p***u). With this API key I could use both plugins (as I remember). The other day I deleted my WP (the entire content of my storage) then I installed a new one. I did it because I set up a new database and db user, etc… I also changed my e-mail address, so I do not want to use the mentioned address anymore. With my new e-mail (w***u@g***l.com) I registered a new WordPress.com username (w***u) and tried to use its API key… With Akismet it works fine, but WordPress.com Stats said I have no permission, or so… I was obliged to use my old WP.com profile, and with it, the Stat is working, but… I would not like to use it this way…

In my old WP.com profile there is a field called Primary Blog with my website address, and it cannot be removed. I think this is why I have to use this API key instead of the new one.

I wanted to ask the WP.com support to delete my old account or delete the connection between the old account and my blog. After the API key for the new account will be operational with both plugins, I would like to completely remove the old e-mail address and use only one for every WP blog related thing…

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Unfortunately wordpress.com accounts aren’t managed from here to my knowledge, if you need assitance with a wordpress.com account, then the only place to really do that, is on wordpress.com

I appreciate that you’re using the www.remarpro.com software, but we don’t have any control other wordpress.com accounts from here to my knowledge.

Perhaps you just need to explain the problem more in-depth so they can understand that the problem you’re having is in relation to the wordpress.com account and not the www.remarpro.com software..

Feel free to link to the other thread here, and vice versa.

    thanks for your reply ??

i know the differences between WP.org and WP.com, my problem was i can’t contact them via their contact form, because i’m forced to add a wordpress.com blog address… their forum rules sent me here (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/7-things-to-know-before-posting-in-wordpresscom-forums?replies=1), but with your approval, now i repost it at them. (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/api-key-issue-on-my-own-domain)

Hello, I am requesting an API key so I can use the wp plugin. Can you please give me an API? my website is conniehocopywriting.com. It is my own domain hosted on a wp platform. Thanks a a lot

I need an API key as well. my blog is https://www.petpossibilities.com/blog

I suppose I need to get in line as well. I need an API to also use the WP stats plugin. I really liked the way it looked on my WP.com blog, but I also don’t want to link my new domain(www.cinfulcinnamon.com) with the old WP.com. That’s why I changed to .org….so I’d have the plugin freedom. Thanks in advance.

i also need an API key, i didn’t recieve any welcome email exept my password and also can’t find it anywhere on my profile.. can anybody help that how can i get it?
