    That’s probably not going to happen; additional functionality like that is the realm of plugins. Also, it’s unlikely core would tie itself directly to a 3rd party service.

    Two factor is something WordPress has been working on for a while, but it comes with a lot of complications. You can see the current state of the feature plugin here:

    As for Google Authenticator support, yes, that will certainly be in there eventually because GA uses a standard. Specifically, it uses Time Based One-Time Passwords (TOTP), which is not unique to GA and available in many different applications.
