• Hi, for the past four days now i have been racking my brains to see what has gone wrong with my site in2town.co.uk it was loading at 1.2 seconds. in Gmtrex i was receive a score of A and A. now my site can take up to 12 seconds to load.

I have it through cloudflare and my hosting company is a2 hosting. My hosting company is saying it is nothing to do with them even though cloudflare has said it is, as it is a serious server issue.

my test result is here https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.in2town.co.uk/6Q1MWESB/

here are the steps that i took which created the problem. i turned off rocket loader in cloudflare and i was using the pro version of Imagify and did a bulk image. i did a speed test and found that i had jumped to eight seconds for loading speed. i then switched rocket back on and no improvement in speed.

I just do not have a clue what to do now. cloudflare is supposed to help me with speed but no matter what i do now it has no benefit. it is like my website is not reponding to any changes on speed.

Can anyone please help me out here and see what the problem is

  • Can you try creating just a basic HTML page, with just hello in body, nothing special in headers, to see if that loads quickly? Start with the basics. If it does load quickly, perhaps something 3rd party is improperly configured/installed, or something on server delayed with calls from one app interface to front-end.

    Hope that helps…

Your page requires 182 “gets” from the browser to get its content. Each “get” also has a .5 second TTFB. I’m not seeing any CDN involved in serving your images.

The gtmetrix report suggests an excessive DOM size is a big factor. The number and file size of the images seems part of the problem. Any chance you recently added more images?

I’m now seeing content being served from Cloudflare. Right now, however, your page loads in 2 seconds, with 17 seconds required to download all content. The number of requests is down to 96.

Use the network tab ofChrome Developer Tools or Firefox Developer Tools to see this.
