Hello guys, I have this error from FACEBOOK Pixel (please see below), how can I fix it? Mattia

Server Sending Invalid Match Key Parameters for AddToCart Event

Your server is sending an invalid ip_address, user_agent parameters value for your AddToCart event. This may be because there was an error in the parameter value.
This may cause issues with the attribution and delivery optimization of ad campaigns that are using this event.

    Hi @gastbrand

This is a problem not likely caused by the plugin but rather a conflicting plugin or theme. Could you provide us with the status report found under **WooCommerce > Status > Get system report** so that we can get a better idea of the site’s environment?

I’d like to see if there are plugins that impact the cart process or if the active theme has template overrides altering the default functionality of the cart/checkout pages.

If either of those are true, to ensure our plugin is working as expected, try switching back to a default theme like Twenty Twenty and disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce to see if this resolves the problem.

If this fixes the issue, then re-enable each plugin one at a time, then the theme, until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

Here is a link that better outlines that process:

    Hello John,

    here is system status: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4lyq7tgg0i8si1w/SystemStatus.docx?dl=0.

Reading various topic here it seems it is a quite common problem that nobody solved it. I have already checked other plugins and this is not a problem related with them. I have also contacted my provider and this is not related with the server too.

Looking forward to hearing news from you.

    Thanks, Mattia.

    Hi @gastbrand

Thanks for writing in with your question! We’ve had a few merchants mention this so far and had raised a support request with the Facebook team that is still ongoing.

Through all the tests and logs that we looked into for these other merchants, we always saw that the ip address and user agent parameters were sent. So we don’t yet know why this message is appearing. The initial response from the Facebook team has been that this should not occur that often, and that they think it could be related to customers using ad-blockers. They advise to clear the issue by clicking the Resolve button in events manager and see if it continues to appear going forward.

We’ve asked the team if we could see some logging from their side to try and match that with our plugin logs. Unfortunately, due to privacy concerns, it’s not possible for Facebook to share that with us.

In which case, if you’d like to raise this further, I would recommend raising a query with them directly at: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/552096935652452
Please make sure to include your Pixel ID, a screenshot of the error, and mention that the WooCommerce plugin uses the Server to Server API for recording these events.

I’m sorry we can’t be more help on this occasion. If I hear anything further from their team on being able to narrow down the root cause, I’ll circle around and let you know!

Could you let me know how you get on if you do decide to contact them directly?

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. If you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
