• On my blog at blog.jamiephelps.com I have put my Google Adsense ads at the bottom of every post. (Spare me the lectures on whether this is good or bad, please.) My problem is that the links are not clickable. Neither is a link to a movie I posted a little while back. I can’t think of why this is the case, so any help would be appreciated.

  • Your pages show up fine in IE. Looks like you commented Google AdSense out, and that created nested comments <!–, which Firefox didn’t like.

Not to be a nagger, but Google only allows a max of 3 ad units per page, so don’t be surprised if they flag you as violation.

Thanks for your help. I commented the Adsense out to see if that was what had broken my links. I noticed that my comment links and other standard WP links were broken too. BUT, I can click on the links before the page loads completely. Then, they break once everything is loaded. I will try taking Adsense out or moving it elsewhere and see if that accomplishes anything. I will also look at my comments to see if I have done anything weird there.

Thanks for the tip on Adsense. That was helpful. I just didn’t want people chastising me for putting ads in every post from a reader perspective.

    Thanks for your reply.

I have deleted my Adsense code, and my WP links (comments, edit this, category) are still not working. I checked my code commenting and that all looks good. Not quite sure what to make of it all. If anyone wants to get their hands dirty with me on this, I would welcome the help.

macmanx: Thanks for the links. Phil’s plugin will definitely be helpful for my site. Particularly, putting the ads after a more tag is great. (OT, but I don’t think I ever knew about the more tag. Some of my posts will need to be updated so that they conserve space.)

    Godspeed,

PS, this is my username. The jamiephelps one was because I was having diff. logging in to this one. Hope the trans. is easy.

Update: I switched to an old stylesheet and my links worked. Switched back and they are broken. I am going to look at my CSS and see if I can figure out the problem. Feel free to look at it as well and let me know what you observe.

    Godspeed,

Lucky for me I have a great memory. I undid my changes one by one until I found the one that broke it. For some reason I had added a float:right; property to the #content id. Not sure why except that it must have been when I was fiddling with positioning. After I removed that line, all was well.
